Ashton's First Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving 2008!!

Capturing three generations of Acres men. Grandpa scooped him up and didn't want to give him back. Dad and son look a lot alike. Will grandson? I'm thinking...yes. Ashton definitely has the Acres chin.

Our first Thanksgiving together. It was a futile effort to get Ashton to take his eyes off the new screen enclosure and the outdoor surroundings to take a family picture. We tried to no avail. Doesn't matter if he looks at the camera or not. He's still the center of attention.



Ashton and his aunties!! Boy do they love their nephew! I've had to separate them a couple of times over who gets to hold him. :) Showered with love!


Here is the sweetest smile you'll ever see. He just kept staring at me and smiling. He wouldn't take his eyes off me for anything. I certainly didn't mind at all. We are seeing a lot of these lately. That's Mommy's precious little man!


Hmmm! Daddy, sneak me just one more bottle before Mommy sees. I haven't quite filled out my shirt like I wanted. Look at those sweet little eyes! He's so cute!




Here's Ashton and Grandma having their Thanksgiving burp! He looks pretty comfy! I think Grandma did a good job getting rid of the gasses.

Not a great image, but you can hear his sweet little noises. He does most of his talking on his changing table for whatever reason, but I caught him babbling away on his playmat after his bath. He's also very talkative in the morning. Ryan and I lay him between us and he just stares at us and talks away! :)

Charm School

The person who made this shirt surely had a sense of humor. Only Dad would consider burping, tooting, and spitting (up that is) charming as I've found these are the primary functions of my child. Oh, did I forget pooping in his pants. :) Anyway, I wanted to share this really adorable picture of Ashton. It really captured his sweetness and personality.

Tummy Time!

Here's a look at our daily tummy time. We've been doing this since we came home from the hospital and he's made so much progress for a little guy. Here he is doing the airplane. Sometimes when I put my hand behind his feet, he'll push off and scoot across his mat. It's so much fun to see what he's going to do, but most of the time this is short lived as he gets frustrated because he can't do much and he tries so hard. Practice makes perfect!

Here's Ashton lifting his head. He's been able to lift his head since the day he was born and it is truly amazing how strong he is. He'll sit there with his head up and look around to check things out.

Tummy time is now over. Ashton has started trying to eat his hand, the mat, and he might be contemplating eating the fish on the mat. Mmmmm! Yummy!

Move Over Sinatra...

...here's the new Blue Eyes!! Don't those sweet little eyes just make you melt. That's what we get to look at everyday. Aren't we lucky! Don't you just want to eat him up?! That's our handsome guy!


I've got my new sweatpants on! I'm so stylin'! He is so adorable in his little winter outfits with his cute little diapered butt. Putting him in pants is so funny! He looks like he's got a little stink bug bottom! :)

Keewaydin, Here I Come!!

This is Ashton's first boat ride! I was a little nervous at first about the ride, but we put him in the Baby Bjorn and he was fine. In fact, he slept the whole way there. Here's Daddy getting our little man on the boat.

We weren't even out of the canal before he was asleep. Look at his cute little sun hat! It was a little big, but it served its purpose. I was putting sunscreen on him and he didn't even stir. The fresh sea breeze and the rocking of the boat just knocked him out.

Here's my little cuddle bug snug in his Baby Bjorn. This is the best invention ever made. I've yet to put him in it without him falling asleep, not to mention it helps get chores done. Isn't that just the cutest face in the world! I could just eat him up! He's so yummy!

Unfortunately, we bought the wrong tent, so we didn't get off the boat but we still enjoyed the fresh breeze, the boat ride and friends! Next time we'll venture off the boat and spend a relaxing time on the beach. This is the start of your many boating days Ashton! Before you know it, we'll have you in the back of the big boat reeling in your first marlin with Dad and Grandpa! (and Mom will show you how to get it done!)

Brrrrr!! Fall is coming!

It got a little cool here in Naples, so mommy made sure I was all bundled up. Check out my stylin' courdoroy pants. I'm not quite sure about this hood thing. It keeps falling over my face. That's mommy's cutest little bundle!! I'm practicing for winter in California when we make it there!

Here's Dad and me kickin' it on the couch. I've found something much more interesting on the couch than the camera. I like to cuddle on the couch. It's my favorite! I sleep so good!

I am a thumb sucker! (when I can find it) I happened to be passing by my iPhone when he shoved his thumb in his mouth. Boy, have I gotten quick at grabbing my phone for photo ops! Shots like this are here, then gone in a flash. I've gotten lucky with some of them.

This was a one time shot. Haven't seen him do this again. I'm so glad that I was able to capture the sweetest picture of our little angel. He sleeps so peacefully. He was sleeping in his bassinet which he absolutely does not like at all anymore.

Welcome Ashton James Acres!!

This is a little retro post to introduce everyone to Ashton on the day he was born. Ashton was born 10-3-08. He weighed 7 lbs and measured 19 1/2 inches long. He is our little miracle! As some of you know, he had a little bit of a rough start his first couple weeks, but he's healthy, happy and home!! He is such a joy! And what a cutey (which is of course not a biased opinion of his mother's). We are happy to introduce our sweet little boy!
